Reconciliation Action Plan

Letter from the Founder

aciae, proudly owned by Circle to Zero, celebrates the sacred lands and waters that sustain us, rich with First Nations songs, stories, ancestors and dreams. We honour all Indigenous people for their priceless custodianship of land and water. In expressing our respect we strive to create meaningful partnerships by fostering mutual understanding between longstanding tradition and a sustainable future; making lasting commitments towards promoting equality in business practices as well as increasing inclusion within fashion's circular economy.

I, as the founder of the business, understand that as a startup business, aciae is at the beginning of a long and fruitful path towards fostering meaningful relationships and promoting inclusion within the fashion industry. To help maximise the social impact of aciae's commitment, we are currently working with our supplier and community partners, building a clear framework and a list of initiatives toward our Zero Inequality goal, and truly embrace an inclusive Australian culture. The following is what we are intending and planning to build as we grow aciae as an Australian owned, sustainable fashion brand:

Awareness and Education:

  • Develop and implement an Indigenous Cultural Awareness Training Program for all aciae staff to enhance understanding and appreciation of First Nations cultures, histories, and achievements.
  • Incorporate First Nations perspectives into aciae's branding, marketing, and storytelling, celebrating the richness of Indigenous cultures and promoting their invaluable contributions to the Australian landscape

Employment and Skills Development:

  • Collaborate with Indigenous organisations to create targeted employment and internship opportunities for First Nations peoples within aciae.
  • Establish mentorship programs and partnerships with Indigenous fashion designers, artisans, and suppliers to promote skills development and cultural exchange.

Community Engagement and Partnerships:

  • Engage with Indigenous communities and organisations to identify areas of collaboration and partnership, building long-lasting relationships rooted in trust, respect, and mutual benefit.
  • Support Indigenous-led initiatives and events that promote cultural awareness, reconciliation, and social inclusion.

Sustainable and Ethical Sourcing:

  • Seek out partnerships with Indigenous-owned businesses and suppliers to incorporate ethically-sourced, sustainable materials and products into aciae's fashion offerings.
  • Commit to transparent and responsible supply chain practices that ensure fair treatment of Indigenous communities and the environment.

As aciae embarks on this journey, we are actively looking for partnerships that will help build and achieve these plans. Together, we can make a lasting and meaningful impact on the lives of Australian peoples and contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable fashion industry.

If you wish to be part of our journey, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or by emailing hello@aciae.com.au. I look forward to working with you to make our promised reconciliation a reality.

Yours Sincerely,

Tina Li
